6%. Term neonates were 74.4% less likely to have abnormal fontanel size than preterm. Vaginally delivered neonates were 64.2% less likely to have abnormal fontanel size than neonates born by caesarean section. selleck Low birth weight neonates were at risk of abnormal fontanel size. The odds ratio of the normal weight of neonate at birth was 0.327473 [95%, CI, (0.153364, 0.6992422)].

Gestational age, mode of delivery, head circumference, and birth weight are the most important determinant factors associated with anterior fontanel size.

The Clinical Learning Evaluation Questionnaire (CLEQ) is a multidimensional, reliable instrument designed to measure the effectiveness of the clinical learning environment for undergraduate medical students. This study seeks to measure and examine the underlying construct along with the latent variables by conducting a confirmatory factor analysis, using structural equation modeling (SEM) so that the instrument can be utilized as an evaluation tool for the continuous improvement of educational environments and curricula.

A cross-sectional study was carried out on 185 third- and fourth-year medical students. A confirmatory factor analysis was conducted, beginning with principal component analysis for standardized factor loadings, using varimax rotation in SPSS to explore the underlying construct of items. The constructs to which each item was tied were determined, and then the data were run through AMOS to assess construct validity through item reduction based on the modification indices, and estimates weross different institutions and countries.

This study did not support the proposed six-factor structure of the CLEQ tool. However, the four-factor CLEQ structure demonstrated an adequate degree of good fit and was found to be as reliable as the original structure. Further research on the predictive validity of CLEQ is required as well as a comparison of the psychometric properties across different institutions and countries.

The basic role of teaching at any degree of training is to bring a rudimentary change within the student. To facilitate the method of information transmission, educators ought to apply acceptable teaching strategies that best suit specific objectives and outcomes. Identifying the best method through comparison of problem-based learning (PBL) and the lecture method; so as to improve students’ overall academic performance appear to be important.

The aim of the study was to undertake comparison between problem-based and lecture-based learning methodologies for immediate knowledge retention of nursing students at Dire Dawa University.

Quantitative research method which used a pre-experimental two group pretest and post-test research design was employed to identify effective teaching methods for immediate knowledge retention on 38 nursing students from June 1 to June 15, 2019. The students were grouped randomly into problem-based learning and lecture methods. The pretest-posttest analysis was done after an iowledge retention for nursing students; it is also the most preferred method of teaching method by the students.

Postoperative delirium (POD) is a very common and serious neurological complication in patients admitted to the cardiothoracic surgical intensive care unit (CSICU). We aimed to identify a novel potential sleep-based marker for POD and investigate the relevance between atypical sleep and POD.

This was a prospective, observational study of patients admitted to the CSICU between December 2019 and February 2020 at our center. Sleep characteristics from 2100 on postoperative day 1 to 0700 on postoperative day 2 were assessed using polysomnography (PSG). POD from the end of PSG monitoring until postoperative day 5 was evaluated using the Confusion Assessment Method for the Intensive Care Unit.

This analysis included 20 patients admitted to the CSICU. The incidence of atypical sleep was 45.0%. Compared to patients without delirium, those with delirium had less delta power, less percentage REM sleep, and a higher proportion of atypical sleep and REM sleep loss (

    < 0.05).

The presence of atypical sleep and the absence of REM sleep were associated with POD in patients admitted to the CSICU.

Mental health is an important component of the protection strategy for healthcare workers (HCWs). However, it has not been well described in Vietnam during the COVID-19 outbreak. This study aims to measure the psychological distress and health-related quality-of-life among frontline healthcare workers during the peak of the outbreak in Vietnam.

We conducted a cross-sectional survey on 173 health workers at two national tertiary hospitals in Hanoi, Vietnam from March to April 2020. The psychological distress was measured by the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale – 21 Items (DASS-21), Impact of Event Scale – Revised (IES-R), and the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). EQ-5D-5L was used to determine the health-related quality-of-life (HRQoL) outcomes.

Among 173 HCWs, the proportion of reported depression symptoms, anxiety symptoms, and stress was 20.2%, 33.5%, and 12.7%, respectively. The median EQ-5D-5L index score was 0.93 (IQR=0.85-0.94), and the anxiety/depression aspect had the highest reported problems distress and lower HRQoL outcomes among frontline HCWs during the COVID-19 outbreak in Vietnam. Various factors were found to be associated with mental health and HRQoL that might be useful for implementing appropriate interventions for HCWs in low-resource settings.

Alcohol use disorders occurring together with common mental disorders are common and have been recognized worldwide as a crucial public health concern. However, there is a scarcity of data about the correlation of alcohol use disorders with common mental disorders and its association with socio-demographic characteristics among community in Ethiopia, especially in the study area. The aim of the study is to assess the correlation of alcohol use disordesr with common mental disorders and its association with socio-demographic characteristics among adults of selected woredas of the Ilu Aba Bor zone.

Community-based cross-sectional study was employed on 690 participants selected by using the multistage sampling technique. Data were collected by using the alcohol use disorder identification test (AUDIT) and self-reporting questionnaire (SRQ-20) scale. Data analysis were done using SPSS version 20. Pearson correlation was used to see the relation of two variables. The strength of the association was determined at p-value <0.
