Session 2: The Desmos Graphing App, Geometry App, and an Introduction to the Desmos Activity Builder
Teacher and author Steve Phelps introduces the basics of the Graphing App, including the following:
● Graphing Functions and piecewise functions
● Creating and using tables for Geometry and Statistics
● Basic Statistics commands.
Teachers will also learn the following components of the Geometry app:
● Basic Constructions
● Labeling and measuring figures
● Basic Transformations
Teachers will then learn how to utilize the Desmos Activity Builder to build a simple graphing and/or geometry activity that will allow them to track student progress in real time. Teachers may also be introduced to creating their own Marbleslides.
