    The environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) hypothesis is of great importance to understanding the relationship between economic activity and environmental degradation. Given the current wave of climate change and environmental crisis traced to rising environmental pollution from economic activities, it has become important to investigate the impact of economic expansion on the environment especially in the emerging-7 countries that are responsible for a large amount of global economic activity. This study investigates the N-shaped EKC for the E-7 countries using data spanning the period 1995-2018. The study employs the use of PMG-ARDL estimator and heterogeneous causality tests to establish the long run and short run and direction of causality respectively regarding the variables of interest. According to study empirical results, the long-run results fail to confirm the presence of an N-shaped EKC in the emerging 7 countries but rather confirms the existence of an inverted U-shaped EKC in the study countries. While renewable energy and non-renewable energy have a positive and significant relationship with CO2 emissions, short run results show that there is no significant relationship between economic expansion, renewable energy, non-renewable energy and CO2 emissions. Causality tests showed a bi-directional causality between GDP- and GDP-squared and a uni-directional causality from CO2 emissions to GDP-cubed, non-renewable energy and CO2 emissions, renewable energy, and CO2 emissions. The study suggests increased use of renewable energy to mitigate pollutant emissions in the E-7 countries.Agroecological productivity of the Arganeraie Biosphere Reserve of Morocco is limited by the wide spread and dynamics of plant parasitic nematodes (PPN). Ecological studies of nematode communities are required to develop effective biological management of these bioagressors as conventional control methods of PPN are inadequate and have persistent harmful effects. Fifty-nine organic vegetable soils in Souss-Massa were nematologically sampled, and assessment of taxonomic proliferation was made in relation to host species, geographical origin, and climatic and microclimatic factors. Twenty-four nematode genera were identified as obligate and facultative plant feeders. Taxonomic diversity increased from Chtouka to Taroudant and Tiznit provinces. Soil texture, organic matter, pH, nitrogen, zinc, magnesium, copper, altitude, and humidity and temperature were seen to effect driving roles in the abundance, distribution, and community structures of nematodes. The most prevalent taxa posing a high risk to organic agriculture of Souss Massa were needle nematodes (Longidorus spp.) and root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.). Edaphic and climatic variables effected nematode populations greatly. A combination of biological treatments and appropriate agroecological practices restricting important economic PPN growth and enhancing soil quality are required to achieve sustainable management in the area.A high-performance sorbent, modified water treatment residuals-sodium alginate beads (WTR-SA beads), was prepared through a series of salt and combined thermal roasting composite modification between water treatment residuals and sodium alginate. The properties of modified WTR-SA beads composites were characterized by SEM-EDS, FT-IR, XRD, and BET. The adsorption performance of WTR-SA beads was investigated in removing nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewater. Compared to the unmodified WTR, the removal efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorus onto the modified WTR-SA beads was increased from 22.34 and 77.13% to 95.14 and 98.31%, respectively. The adsorption capacities of nitrogen and phosphorus onto the modified WTR-SA beads were reach a maximum of 2.52 mg/g and 6.45 mg/g, respectively. The adsorption behavior can be well described using a quasi-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm model. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the modified WTR-SA beads are a high efficiency adsorbent for removing nitrogen and phosphorus from domestic and industrial wastewater.Addressing the geographical relocation of the pollution-intensive gray side of low-carbon green production, our study analyzes potential determinants of green and gray growth performance of industrialized/developed countries (IDCs) and industrializing/emerging economies (IEEs) over the 1996-2015 period. We define green growth by low-carbon output, while we link gray growth to comparative advantages of pollution havens. Green and gray growth models include such predictors as domestic income and foreign direct investment (FDI) together with composite indices for globalization, environmental policy stringency (EPS), industrialization, and control of corruption. Considering non-stationarity, cross-section dependency, endogeneity, and heterogeneity concerns, we employ bootstrap and residual-based cointegration analyses followed by long-run estimations using the Common Correlated Effects Mean Group (CCEMG) and Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares (DOLS) estimators and causality examination through Dumitrescu-Hurlin and Ebe counterbalanced by the environmental costs of graying economies. From a policy perspective, IEEs need to reinforce environmental policies by green efficiency, green industrialization, and anti-corruption plans to decouple economic growth from carbon dioxide emissions.This paper examines the impact of environmental treaties on the environment across 74 countries 50 resource-rich and 24 non-resource-rich countries. Using data spanning over 35 years, we find a negative and significant association between environmental treaties and environmental quality in resource-rich countries. On the contrary, we find environmental treaties positively and significantly affect the environment in non-resource-rich countries. Our results suggest that the environmental treaties signed by resource-rich countries may lead them to achieve sustainable development growth by 2030. Therefore, our results extend the environment literature and inform policymakers of the need to pay attention to the effects of signing environmental treaties on environmental protection.
