Moreover, the Bcl-2/Bax ratio was obviously decreased in cells only exposed to Aβ1-42, but, which was suppressed by treated with DMDD.

DMDD attenuated the apoptosis of SH-SY5Y cells induced by Aβ1-42 through reversing the Bcl-2/Bax ratio.

Efforts to relate the genomic information of this evolutionary ancient organism to environmental adaptation have been thwarted by the inability to construct a complete genome. The existing draft genome is highly fragmented due to repetitive regions, and gaps between and over repetitive regions were unbridgeable. To address this, Oxford Nanopore Technology’s MinION allowed us to span these repeats through long reads, with over 6000-fold coverage. This resulted in a single 3.34 Mb circular chromosome. The profile of transporters and central metabolism gives insight into why the organism prefers glutamate over sucrose as carbon source. We propose that the deamination of glutamate allows alkalization of the immediate environment, an excellent example of how an extremophile modulates environmental conditions to suit its own requirements. Curiously, plant-like hallmark electron transfer enzymes and transporters are found throughout the genome, such as a cytochrome b6c1 complex and a CO2-concentrating transporter. In addition, multiple self-splicing group II intron-encoded proteins closely aligning to those of a telomerase reverse transcriptase in Arabidopsis thaliana were revealed. Collectively, these features suggest an evolutionary relationship to plant life.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has substantially changed life worldwide in 2020. This also influences the psychological treatment options of patients with headache.

The present article intends to illustrate the different psychological forms of treatment for headache patients and their implementation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Literature review and case reports.

Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, psychological treatment enables the increased stress level in headache patients to be counteracted by using cognitive behavioral therapy and relaxation techniques. The changed living conditions are often unfavorable but sometimes also favorable in the course of disease. It can be shown that even during the pandemic, such favorable changes can be used to support patients to cope with their headache.

The digital implementation of psychological approaches makes amajor contribution to maintaining psychological treatment of headache patients, so that the individually changed needs can be addressed. With respect to content, stress regulation techniques and increased acceptance gain in importance. Regarding biofeedback there are limitations, which may be overcome by improved technical devices.

Robotic surgery has advantages in terms of the ergonomic design and expectations of shortening the learning curve, which may reduce the number of patients with adverse outcomes during a surgeon’s learning period. We investigated the differences in the learning curves of robotic surgery and clinical outcomes for rectal cancer among surgeons with differences in their experiences of laparoscopic rectal cancer surgery.

Patients who underwent robotic surgery for colorectal cancer were reviewed retrospectively. Patients were divided into five groups by surgeons, and their clinical outcomes were analyzed. The learning curve of each surgeon with different volumes of laparoscopic experience was analyzed using the cumulative sum technique (CUSUM) for operation times, surgical failure (open conversion or anastomosis-related complications), and local failure (positive resection margins or local recurrence within 1year).

A total of 662 patients who underwent robotic low anterior resection (LAR) for rectal cancer were included in the analysis. Number of laparoscopic LAR cases performed by surgeon A, B, C, D, and E prior to their first case of robotic surgery were 403, 40, 15, 5, and 0 cases, respectively. Based on CUSUM for operation time, surgeon A, B, C, D, and E’s learning curve periods were 110, 39, 114, 55, and 23 cases, respectively. There were no significant differences in the surgical and oncological outcomes after robotic LAR among the surgeons.

This study demonstrated the limited impact of laparoscopic surgical experience on the learning curve of robotic rectal cancer surgery, which was greater than previously reported curves.

Postoperative percutaneous choledochoscopy via T tube sinus tract is a common modality for treating retained intrahepatic stones in China. We report a rare complication of postoperative choledochoscopy for treating retained hepatolithiasis T tube sinus tract duodenal fistula.

From January 2003 to December 2018, intrahepatic duct stones with or without common bile duct stones were detected in 1031 patients. Fifteen of the 1031 patients with intrahepatic stones developed a T tube sinus tract duodenal fistula that was diagnosed by cholangiography and choledochoscopy.

The incidence of T tube sinus tract duodenal fistula in patients with retained intrahepatic stones being treated by postoperative choledochoscopy is 1.45% (15/1031) in this series. The chi-squared test showed that hypoalbuminemia (P = 0.003), long duration of T tube (P = 0.002), and high frequency of procedure (P = 0.008) might be associated with the occurrence of T tube sinus tract duodenal fistula. The logistic regression analysis demonstrated that hypoalbuminemia might be the independent risk factor for this special fistula (P = 0.
