    Zucker diabetic fatty (ZDF) rats that harbor a mutation in the leptin receptor innately develop type 2 diabetes (T2D) with obesity. Transcutaneous auricular vagal nerve stimulation (taVNS) has an antidiabetic effect in ZDF rats. However, the underlying mechanisms of the weight-gain attenuating effect in ZDF rats by taVNS is still unclear. This study aimed to assess whether the weight-gain attenuating effect of taVNS in ZDF rats is associated with changes in the central nervous system (CNS) expression of P2Y1 receptors (P2Y1R). Adult male ZDF rats were subjected to taVNS and transcutaneous non-vagal nerve stimulation (tnVNS). Their food intake and body weight were recorded daily and weekly, respectively. P2Y1R expression in the hypothalamus, amygdala, and hippocampus was evaluated by western blotting. Hypothalamic P2Y1R expressing cells were detected using immunohistochemistry. Naïve ZDF rats were much heavier (p  0.05) and suppressed hypothalamic P2Y1R expression in ZDF rats (p  less then  0.05). Moreover, P2Y1R showed major expression in astrocytes of ZDF rats’ hypothalamus. ZDF rats innately develop obesity associated with elevated hypothalamic P2Y1R expression. taVNS attenuates weight gain in ZDF rats without changes in food intake, suggesting increased energy expenditure. Whether the reduced hypothalamic P2Y1R expression in response to taVNS is mechanistically linked to the increased energy expenditure remains to be determined.

    Chest CT is prognostic in Covid-19 but there is a lack of consensus on how to report the CT findings. A chest CT scoring system, ÖCoS, was implemented in clinical routine on 1 April 2020, in Örebro Region, Sweden. The ÖCoS-severity score measures the extent of lung involvement. The objective of the study was to evaluate the ÖCoS scores as predictors of the clinical course of Covid-19.

    Population based study including data from all hospitalized patients with Covid-19 in Örebro Region during March to July 2020. We evaluated the correlations between CT scores at the time of admission to hospital and intensive care in relation to hospital and intensive care length of stay (LoS), intensive care admission and death. C-reactive protein and lymphocyte count were included as covariates in multivariate regression analyses.

    In 381 included patients, the ÖCoS-severity score at admission closely correlated to hospital length of stay, and intensive care admission or death. At admission to intensive care, the ÖCoS-severity score correlated with intensive care length of stay. The ÖCoS-severity score was superior to basic inflammatory biomarkers in predicting clinical outcomes.

This implies an innovation, being the degree of satisfaction of patients unknown. Methods A telephonic survey was conducted with the validated in the Spanish tool Telehealth Usability Questionnaire (Telehealth Usability Questionnaire; rating from 1-7) of all candidate patients assisted consecutively in the Coloproctology Unit. We included demographic variables, education level, job status, diagnosis and consultation type. A descriptive study was done. The relationship between the willingness of consultation model in the future (telemedicine vs traditional) and the categorical variables was analysed through the chi-squared test. Results A total of 115 patients were included. The average age was 59.9 years, being 60% women. The average score in each of the survey items was higher than 6 in all the questions but 1. 26.1% of the surveyed patients confessed being advocated to tele-assistance in the future. The only factors related to greater willingness to tele-assistance were male gender (37% vs 18.8%; P = .03) and a higher academic preparation level in favour of higher technical studies (35.9%) and university studies (32.4%) opposite to the rest (P = .043). The rest of variables studied, job status, labour regimen, diagnostic group and consultation type did not show any relationship. Conclusions A vast majority of patients answered favourably to almost all the items of the survey. However, only 26.1% of them would choose a model of tele-assistance without restrictions.This study aims to investigate healthcare workers’ (HCWs) willingness to receive SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in Zhejiang and to discover the related influential factors. The survey was conducted in six regions of Zhejiang Province, China, and 13 hospitals and 12 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) were incorporated into the survey research. Participants were healthcare workers and a total of 3726 questionnaires were collected online, of which 3634 (97.53%) were analyzed. The relationships between the factors and the willingness to get vaccinated against COVID-19 were computed as odds ratios (ORs) by means of multi-factor non-conditional logistic regression analysis. Of the 3634 participants, 2874 (79.09%) HCWs expressed their willingness to get vaccinated if the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine becomes available. Respondents who were younger than 50 years (OR = 1.502, 95% CI 1.047-2.154), those who believed that they were somewhat likely (OR = 1.658, 95% CI 1.297-2.120) or likely (OR = 1.893, 95% CI 1.334-2.684) to get infected by SARS-COV-2 and those with a positive attitude toward the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine were more willing to get vaccinated. This study revealed that HCWs in Zhejiang Province had a high willingness to get vaccinated. Patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) are reported with different levels of cognitive dysfunctions in various cognitive domains ranging from general intellectual testing to specific deficits with visuospatial abilities, motor speed, writing, attention, reading, and psychomotor efficiency. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of Citrullus colocynthis on cognitive functions.Methods A total of 42 male Wistar rats (3-4  months old and weighing 200-250  g) were tested in the current study. Rats were randomly allocated into 3 groups of control, Diabetes, and Diabetes + Drug. The diabetic rats received Citrullus colocynthis extraction orally. The behavioral tests included the open field, elevated plus maze (EPM), novel object recognition (NOR), passive avoidance tests, and Morris Water Maze (MWM) tests. Data were analyzed using student and paired t-tests via SPSS software version 16.Results Our results showed the protective effects of Citrullus colocynthis administration against cognitive impairments.
