Together, we provided the first evidence that resveratrol promotes muscle fiber type conversion from fast-twitch to slow-twitch via miR-22-3p and AMPK/SIRT1/PGC-1α pathway in C2C12 myotubes. Articular cartilage repair has been a long-standing challenge in orthopaedic medicine due to the limited self-regenerative capability of cartilage tissue. Currently, cartilage lesions are often treated by microfracture or autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI). However, these treatments are frequently reported to result in a mixture of the desired hyaline cartilage and mechanically inferior fibrocartilage. selleck products In this study, by combining the advantages of cartilage tissue engineering and decellularization technology, we developed a decellularized allogeneic hyaline cartilage graft, named dLhCG, which achieved superior efficacy in articular cartilage repair and surpassed living autologous chondrocyte-based cartilaginous engraftment and ACI. By the 6-month time point after implantation in porcine knee joints, the fine morphology, composition, phenotype, microstructure and mechanical properties of the regenerated hyaline-like cartilaginous neo-tissue have been demonstrated via histology, biochemical assays, DNA microarrays and mechanical tests. The articular cartilaginous engraftment with allogeneic dLhCG was indicated to be well consistent, compatible and integrated with the native cartilage of the host. The successful repair of articular chondral defects in large animal models suggests the readiness of allogeneic dLhCG for clinical trials. Electronic transport through P-porphyrin and S-porphyrin nanoribbons have been studied by using nonequilibrium Green’s function formalism (NEGF) combined with density functional theory (DFT) method. Band structure of both nanoribbons shows metallic behavior and bands near the Fermi level contain π character contributed by py orbital. Both nanoribbons exhibit metal-like conduction at extreme low bias. A remarkable negative differential resistance (NDR) effect is observed for both nanoribbons which is further explained with the evolution of transmission peak within energy bias window (EBW), and overlap of energy states of left and right electrodes. The low bias NDR phenomena of our proposed devices could be used in designing NDR devices including frequency multipliers, memory, and fast switches. BAKGROUND Hereditary Spastic paraplegias (HSPs) are a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of degenerative disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and weakness of the lower limbs. This study aimed to identify causative gene variants in two unrelated consanguineous Pakistani families presented with 2 different forms of HSP. METHODS Whole exome sequencing (WES) was performed in the two families and variants were validated by Sanger sequencing and segregation analysis. ANALYSIS In family A, a homozygous pathogenic variant in ZFYVE26 was identified in one family. While in family B, a frameshift variant in CYP2U1 was identified in 4 affected individuals presented with clinical features of SPG56. Our study is the first report of ZFYVE26 mutations causing HSP in the Pakistani population and the second report of CYP2U1 in a Pakistani family. CONCLUSIONS Our findings enhance the clinical and genetic variability associated with two rare autosomal recessive HSP genes, highlighting the complexity of HSPs. These findings further emphasize the usefulness of WES as a powerful diagnostic tool. V.The paper selected 992 patients who came to our hospital for treatment and were diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumours from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2018, of whom 17 were diagnosed with primary liver neuroendocrine tumours. The clinical data were analysed to study the clinical value of CT and MRI imaging data in the diagnosis of the disease. The study found that 9 cases (52.9%) of tumours were in the right lobe of the liver; 9 cases (52.9%) of tumours were single. Imaging showed that the arterial phase, venous phase, and delayed phase continued to be slightly enhanced, showing a low density change relative to the liver, and no portal tumour thrombus formation. Four patients (23.5%) had distant metastases, including adrenal glands, portal interstitial lymph nodes, retroperitoneal lymph nodes, invading the gallbladder and peritoneum. Pathological grade 3 cases of NET G2; 2 cases of NET G3; 10 cases of NEC, including 2 cases of LCNEC and 3 cases of SCNEC; 2 cases of HCC and SCNEC. 7 cases were treated with surgery alone; 4 cases were treated with TACE; 2 cases were treated with other treatments; 3 cases were not treated with surgery and treated with TACE, EP, octreotide acetate; 1 case was discharged automatically. The study found that the tumour density on CT images was lower than that of the liver parenchyma, medium-high enhancement was seen in the arterial enhancement phase, and continuous enhancement in the venous phase, but the degree of enhancement was reduced, and rarely with portal tumour thrombosis. Surgery is the main treatment method. Postoperative combined TACE is superior to surgery combined with microwave ablation, chemotherapy and other treatments. BACKGROUND Atlantoaxial spine surgery is a challenge to spinal surgeons because of its proximity to neurovascular structures. This study aimed to identify and analyze the scientific publications in atlantoaxial spine surgery from different countries and institutions. METHODS Clarivate Analytics Web of Science was used to search all articles for information on atlantoaxial spine surgery. The annual research, countries, journals, authors, institutions, citation frequency, and journal metrics were extracted. These results from countries and hotspots (keywords in publications) were subjected to co-occurrence analysis using VOSviewer, after which the top 100 most-cited articles were analyzed further. RESULTS A total of 3161 articles were included. A trend toward an increasing number of publications on atlantoaxial spine surgery in recent years was evident. Among all countries, the United States contributed the most publications. Seth Gordhandas Sundarda Medical College had the highest number of publications among institutions.
