Since these non-healing wounds are associated with an extended recovery period, the existing therapies provide treatment for a limited period only. The areas covered in this review are general sequential events of wound healing along with DW’s pathophysiology, the origin of DW and success, as well as limitations of existing therapies. This systematic review’s significant aspect is to highlight the fabrication, characterization and applications of various acellular scaffolds used to heal DW.     To compare the cell culture condition on exosomes, human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UCMSCs) were cultured with two different media, serum containing media, 10% FBS supplemented DMEM (NM) and serum-free chemically defined media, CellCor™ CD MSC (CDM). To remove FBS-derived exosomes from UCMSC cultured with NM, the medium was replaced with FBS-free DMEM for starvation duringpro-inflammatory cytokines compared to with NM.

    CDM has the advantages to maintain cell proliferation even during the period of exosome isolations and eliminate unknown side effects caused by serum-derived exosomes. Additionally, exosomes derived from UCMSC cultured with CDM show better wound healing and angiogenic effects due to a lot of regeneration-related cytokines and less pro-inflammatory cytokines compared to with NM.

    Despite increased attention on the links between poverty and the health and wellbeing of youth, few have attempted to understand the physiological consequences associated with different forms of economic disadvantage among Latina/o children. The present study begins to address this gap by (1) examining whether different forms of economic disadvantage were related to telomere length for Latina/o children and (2) determining whether parents’ nativity shapes economic disadvantage-telomere length relationships.

    Data were drawn from the Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study, a longitudinal, stratified multistage probability sample of couples and children in 20 large US cities. The sample consisted of 417 Latina/o children and their parents that were followed from birth to age 9. Ordinary least squares regressions were used to examine relationships between economic disadvantage and telomere length.

    Findings revealed that poverty status was not significantly related to telomere length, whereas some forms of material hardship were shown to play a role in the risk of premature cellular aging.
