The cognitive scores of children with stage II and III iron depletion were significantly lower (P  less then  .05) than those with a normal IQ. Published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.AIM Due to conflicting data, we aimed to investigate the association of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors at late adolescence in a cross-sectional population-based study. METHODS A total of 1 144 213 Jewish Israeli adolescents who underwent a general health examination prior to enlistment at median age of 17.1 years from 1988 to 2016 were included. Covariate data included demographics, blood pressure, resting heart rate and risk factors associated with CVD. RESULTS Overall, 2372 cases of IBD were identified, including 1612 cases of Crohn’s disease (68%). Univariate analysis showed marginally lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure in patients with IBD with no difference following multivariate analysis. Diagnosis of Crohn’s disease in males was associated with lower rates of overweight (15.8% vs 21.2%, P  less then  .001) and obesity (3.7% vs 6.1% P = .003), whereas females with Crohn’s disease had a lower rate of overweight (14.0% vs 17.9% P = .04) but not obesity. Patients with ulcerative colitis did not differ from controls in terms of overweight or obesity. Patients with Crohn’s disease had an increased prevalence of hereditary hypercoagulability (odds ratio 16.9, 95% confidence interval 8.0-35.7, P  less then  .001). All rights reserved.PURPOSE To assess the capability of an intracavitary 169 Yb-based helical multishield rotating shield brachytherapy (RSBT) delivery system to treat cervical cancer. The proposed RSBT delivery system contains a pair of 1.25 mm thick platinum partial shields with 45° and 180° emission angles, which travel in a helical pattern within the applicator. METHODS A helically threaded tandem applicator with a 45° tandem curvature containing a helically threaded catheter was designed. A 0.6 mm diameter 169 Yb source with a length of 10.5 mm was simulated. A 37-patient treatment planning study, based on Monte Carlo dose calculations using MCNP5, was conducted with high-risk clinical target volumes (HR-CTVs) of 41.2-192.8 cm3 (average ± standard deviation of 79.9 ± 35.8 cm3 ). All patients were assumed to receive 25 fractions of 1.8 Gy of external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) before receiving 5 fractions of high-dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR-BT). A discussion was facilitated to explore their perspectives on psychotherapy practices of personal growth (intentionally working towards a strengthened sense of autonomy, mastery, and self-acceptance) in different countries (United States, Canada, Argentina, and Chile) and different modalities (psychoanalysis, humanistic therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy). METHODS Following the conference, the audio recording of this discussion was transcribed and analyzed using consensual qualitative research methods. RESULTS Six domains were identified; definition of personal growth, mental health care systems, psychotherapy practice, psychotherapy research, client and therapist characteristics, and social stigma.
