Our data demonstrates that deep learning methods utilizing a template-based data augmentation strategy can be employed to accurately and rapidly quantify total abdominal SAT and VAT with a small number of training images.

To explore older people’s use of the Internet for coping with stress posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
An online survey with a random sample of 407 Internet users aged 60 years and over (Mean = 69.14).
Participants reported a significant increase in 7 of 12 Internet-based functions following the pandemic onset. Stress levels were moderate-to-high and participants appeared more worried about others than about themselves. Significant positive associations were found between stress and increase in Internet use for interpersonal communication and online errands. Linear regression analysis revealed a significant negative association between stress and subjective wellbeing, but it was only increased Internet use for leisure that associated significantly with enhanced wellbeing.
The changes in Internet use clearly reflected coping efforts that were apparently ineffective in enhancing wellbeing. Paradoxically, the only online functions that could improve wellbeing, Internet use for leisure, are precisely those whose use hardly increased.

Our objective was to assess the perception of telemedicine, as a useful tool to connect staff to specialized units. In this multicenter prospective study, 90 patients from ten facilities benefited from 180 sessions over two years. The primary outcome was the perception of telemedicine evaluated through semi-structured interviews at baseline and two years later. Our results revealed positive perceptions of telemedicine, confirmed after two years of real-life experience with its use. Not only do staff members believe that telemedicine is not a downgraded version of medicine, but they also believe that it could improve the quality of care. They expressed a very positive sense of recognition of their professional qualifications and indicated their need to be involved in change processes to ensure successful implementation and better adherence to telemedicine as a service.Constipation is a highly prevalent condition amongst older adults in long-term care settings and laxatives are not always the solution. We aimed to examine the characteristics and the effects of non-pharmacological interventions to improve constipation amongst older adults in long-term care settings. Eligible studies were identified using PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane and EMBASE (up to April 2019). We included 7 studies with a total of 657 patients. Five interventions improved the number of bowel movements (i.e. laxative tea, fermented oat drink, patient education, probiotics and multi-component intervention). The administration of probiotic capsules and fermented oat drinks also improved stool form. Auricular acupressure improved constipation symptoms and constipation-related quality of life. After appraising the trials’ methodological quality and risk of bias, we cannot recommend any non-pharmacological interventions to improve constipation amongst older adults in long-term care settings until more robust studies have been conducted.
We aimed to examine the possible association of obesity (body mass index [BMI]≥30) with symptoms, psychotropic medication, and whole-brain structure in patients with schizophrenia.
Participants were 65 patients diagnosed with schizophrenia (mean age 37.2±11.3years, 32 females). All participants were Japanese and right-handed. Symptoms were assessed using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Voxel based morphometry (VBM) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) were performed to analyze the association of obesity with gray and white matter structures, respectively.
There was no significant difference in PANSS scores between obese and non-obese patients, while the PSQI score was significantly higher in the former than in the latter (p<0.05). The daily dose of typical antipsychotics was significantly higher in obese patients than in non-obese patients (p<0.001). In VBM, there was no significant difference in gray matter volume between obese and non-obese patients. In DTI, fractional anisotropy values in the corpus callosum, corona radiata, corticospinal tract, superior longitudinal fasciculus, and posterior thalamic radiations were significantly lower in obese patients than in non-obese patients (corrected p<0.05). Axial diffusivity was significantly lower while radial and mean diffusivities values were significantly higher in obese patients than in non-obese patients (corrected p<0.05) in similar but more restricted brain regions.
Our results suggest that obesity is related to sleep disturbances, daily dose of typical antipsychotics, and regional white matter microstructure impairments in patients with schizophrenia.

Here, we aim to compare the early psychological impact (depression, anxiety, and stress responses, intrusive and avoidant thoughts, and coping strategies) on people with SMD (n = 125) compared with two control groups common mental disorders (CMD, n = 250) and healthy controls (HC, n = 250). Navitoclax An anonymous online questionnaire using a snowball sampling method was conducted from March 19-26, 2020 and included sociodemographic and clinical data along with the DASS-21 and IES scales. We performed descriptive and bivariate analyses and multinomial and linear regression models. People with SMD had higher anxiety, stress, and depression responses than HC, but lower scores than CMD in all domains. Most people with SMD (87.2%) were able to enjoy free time, although control groups had higher percentages. After controlling for confounding factors, anxiety was the only significant psychological domain with lower scores in HC than people with SMD (OR = 0.
