    In shape measurement systems using a grating projection method, the phase analysis of a projected grating provides accurate results. The most popular phase analysis method is the phase shifting method, which requires several images for one shape analysis. Therefore, the object must not move during the measurement. The authors previously proposed a new accurate and high-speed shape measurement method, i.e., the one-pitch phase analysis (OPPA) method, which can determine the phase at every point of a single image of an object with a grating projected onto it. In the OPPA optical system, regardless of the distance of the object from the camera, the one-pitch length (number of pixels) on the imaging surface of the camera sensor is always constant. Therefore, brightness data for one pitch at any point of the image can be easily analyzed to determine phase distribution, or shape. This technology will apply to the measurement of objects in motion, including automobiles, robot arms, products on a conveyor belt, and vibrating objects. This paper describes the principle of the OPPA method and example applications for real-time human motion capture and modal analysis of free vibration of a flat cantilever plate after hammering. The results show the usefulness of the OPPA method.Recent evidence suggests that immunological aspects play a pivotal role in this disorder. The objective of our study was to rate with flow cytometry the levels of several subsets of dendritic cells, monocytes, and basic peripheral blood lymphocytes expressing TLR2, aiming at the determination of a possible correlation between the expression of TLR2 and the clinical outcomes of endometriosis in 40 patients and 40 age-matched healthy women. Our study showed the importance of TLR2 expression, mainly on myeloid dendritic cells (mDCs) and B cells in patients with endometriosis. Both mDCs BDCA1+CD19-TLR2+ and B lymphocytes CD19+TLR-2+ proved useful in the differentiation of affected individuals with stages 3-4 of the disease (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve /AUC/ = 0.96, p less then 0.0001 for mDCs; AUC = 0.78, p = 0.0001 for B lymphocytes), and those presenting adhesion (AUC = 0.92, p less then 0.0001 for mDCs; AUC = 0.82, p less then 0.0001 for B lymphocytes) or infertility (AUC = 0.83, p less then 0.0001 for mDCs; AUC = 0.73, p = 0.006 for B lymphocytes). Our findings suggest that the levels of TLR2-expressing cells, particularly mDCs and B lymphocytes, may be an effective biomarker of endometriosis, because the disease currently lacks clinically useful noninvasive biomarkers enabling early and cost-effective diagnosis.Mast cells (MCs) are immune cells that act as environment resident sentinels playing a crucial role in Th2-mediated immune responses, including allergic reactions. Distinguishing features of MCs are the presence of numerous cytoplasmic granules that encapsulate a wide array of preformed bio-active molecules and the constitutive expression of the high affinity receptor of IgE (FcεRI). Upon FcεRI engagement by means of IgE and multivalent antigens, aggregated receptors trigger biochemical pathways that ultimately lead to the release of granule-stored and newly synthesized pro-inflammatory mediators. #link# Additionally, MCs are also able to release exosomes either constitutively or upon stimulation. The quality and frequency of breakfast and the various food groups can affect the wellbeing of this population group in both the short and long term. Research indicates that there is a range of relevant variables in the study of diet at this stage following a weight loss diet, body mass index and the practice of physical exercise, amongst others. In this paper, all three variables are analysed, together with others of a demographic nature (sex and age). This is a descriptive cross-sectional survey that was carried out on 1318 adolescents aged 11 to 18. The Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children (HBSC) international study questionnaire, sponsored by the World Health Organisation, was used. In general terms, the data revealed that the majority of adolescents do not have adequate eating patterns. The quality and frequency of breakfast and the consumption of food types are associated with almost all the variables under study; additionally, there are significant differences by sex and school year. Finally, proposals are made to prevent eating disorders, which are appearing at an increasingly young age.

    Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs leucine, isoleucine, valine) account for 35% of skeletal muscle essential amino acids (AAs). As such, they must be provided in the diet to support peptide synthesis and inhibit protein breakdown. Although substantial evidence has been collected about the potential usefulness of BCAAs in supporting muscle function and structure, dietary supplements containing BCAAs alone may not be effective in controlling muscle protein turnover, due to the rate-limiting bioavailability of other AAs involved in BCAAs metabolism.

    We aimed to evaluate the in vivo/ex vivo effects of a 4-week treatment with an oral formulation containing BCAAs alone (211) on muscle function, structure, and metabolism in a murine model of physiological exercise, which was compared to three modified formulations combining BCAAs with increasing concentrations of L-Alanine (ALA), an AA controlling BCAAs catabolism.

    A preliminary pharmacokinetic study confirmed the ability of ALA to boost up BCAAs bioavailability.
