Dupuytren disease (DD) is a fibroproliferative disorder that originates at the palmar fascia and results in flexion contracture of the digits. The gold standard treatment for DD has been surgery. Surgical treatment of DD can be done with various methods, from percutaneous needle fasciotomy to dermatofasciectomy. The most commonly used surgical treatment is limited fasciectomy (LF). The potential complications of limited fasciectomy include long recovery time, scarring, neurovascular injury, and tendon injury. Minimally invasive treatment for DD, which is simple and allows for rapid return of function, has gained popularity amongst both patients and surgeons. Currently, minimally invasive treatments for DD include percutaneous needle fasciotomy (PNF) and collagenase clostridium histolyticum (CCH). In this review, we provide an overview of the minimally invasive treatments for Dupuytren disease and summarize the current evidence regarding these minimally invasive treatments.A 68-year-old man with a right distal radius fracture treated with volar locking plate fixation previously was unable to flex his right thumb and four fingers without experiencing any adverse event. The flexor pollicis longus was reconstructed with a tendon graft using the lengthened flexor digitorum superficialis. The flexor digitorum profundus (FDP) of the ring finger was reconstructed with a tendon graft using the palmaris longus. The FDP of the index and little fingers was reconstructed using the interconnected tendon graft to the ring finger. Postoperatively, active flexion of all fingers and thumb was restored; however, he was unable to grasp thin objects because of the absence of full finger flexion. This is the first case wherein all nine flexor tendons being involved after volar locking plate fixation for a distal radius end fracture. We demonstrated a reconstructive procedure for long-standing multiple flexor tendon rupture after volar locking plate fixation.In this research, the biological activity of the antibacterial drug Chloroxine-conjugated biogenic AgNPs (COX-AgNPs) was investigated in simulated physiological conditions (pH = 7.40). Different spectroscopic methods such as UV-visible, fluorescence, and circular dichroism spectroscopic and docking simulation were employed to evaluate the structural changes in the most important blood proteins (human hemoglobin (HHb) and Cytochrome c (Cyt c)) in the presence of COX-AgNPs. Sarma.Thirty castrated Duroc × Landrace × Yorkshire (DLY) pigs were randomly divided into three groups and slaughtered at 180, 210, and 240 days of age, respectively. Together, this study suggests that the older slaughter age improves the carcass traits and nutritional value of pork, but leads to a significant decrease in pork sensory quality in DLY finishing pigs.This study aimed to compare performance in working memory (WM), processing speed (PRS), and attention measures in children and adolescents with typical development (TD) and with Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (inattentive [ADHD-I] or combined [ADHD-C]) presentations, and to determine the predictive ability of the measures mentioned to discriminate between ADHD presentations and TD. 260 children and adolescents, 138 with ADHD (70 ADHD-I and 68 ADHD-C) and 122 TD in two age cohorts (8-12 years; 13-16 years), were assessed with WM and PRS indexes of Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-IV) and the d2 attention test. Significant differences between ADHD and TD groups in the WISC-IV GAI scores were found in children but not in adolescents. Children and adolescents with both ADHD presentations performed poorly on the PRS index, while on the WM index only children exhibited difficulties. In the attention test, children with ADHD-C showed more impulsivity and more difficulties for processing speed, concentration and accuracy than ADHD-I and TD. In addition, both ADHD presentations had higher inattention scores than TD. ADHD adolescents performed worse than TD in processing speed, concentration and accuracy. ADHD groups showed more impulsivity and inattention than TD. Digit Span and Symbol Search (WISC-IV) and processing speed and accuracy (d2) successfully classified ADHD and TD in children, but in adolescents, only coding (WISC-IV) and accuracy (d2) successfully classified ADHD presentations and TD. The WISC-IV and d2 yield neuropsychological profiles which reflect age-related cognitive changes and may allow the adaptation of more tailored early interventions for ADHD.Objective Young adults with cancer are at a heightened risk for experiencing identity distress, with adverse consequence on their satisfaction with life (SwL). This study examines the contributions of two resources thought to mitigate identity distress parental warmth and narrative creativity.Methods 164 young adults divided into three groups (a) control group (no history of life-threatening medical illness); (b) recovered group, and (c) cancer group (currently in treatment) completed measures of SwL, identity distress, parental warmth, and narrative creativity.Findings The cancer group was associated with higher identity distress and there was a strong contribution of identity distress in decreased SwL across groups. Narrative creativity had a significant, direct effect on reduced identity distress, indirectly increasing SwL across groups.Implications for psychosocial providers These findings highlight the potential of creativity to decrease identity distress and in turn, improve SwL among patients with cancer.
