Further, the influences of thermal radiation Rd and Brownian motion parameters are particularly more valuable to enhance fluid temperature. The fluid velocity is reduced by the action of suction effects. The suction effect grips the fluid particles towards the pores of the disk, which causes the momentum boundary layer reduction.Anaerobic codigestion of olive mill wastewater for renewable energy production constitutes a promising process to overcome management and environmental issues due to their conventional disposal. The present study aims at assessing biogas and biomethane production from olive mill wastewater by performing biochemical methane potential tests. Hence, mixtures containing 0% (blank), 20% and 30% olive mill wastewater, in volume, were experimented on under mesophilic conditions. In addition, life cycle assessment and life cycle costing were performed for sustainability analysis. Particularly, life cycle assessment allowed assessing the potential environmental impact resulting from the tested process, while life cycle costing in conjunction with specific economic indicators allowed performing the economic feasibility analysis. The research highlighted reliable outcomes higher amounts of biogas (80.22 ± 24.49 NL.kgSV-1) and methane (47.68 ± 17.55 NL.kgSV-1) were obtained when implementing a higher amount of olive mill wastewater (30%) (v/v) in the batch reactors. According to life cycle assessment, the biogas ecoprofile was better when using 20% (v/v) olive mill wastewater. Similarly, the economic results demonstrated the profitability of the process, with better performances when using 20% (v/v) olive mill wastewater. These findings confirm the advantages from using farm and food industry by-products for the production of renewable energy as well as organic fertilizers, which could be used in situ to enhance farm sustainability.Malaria remains one of the leading causes of death in sub-Saharan Africa, ranked in the top three infectious diseases in the world. Plants of the Eriosema genus have been reported to be used for the treatment of this disease, but scientific evidence is still missing for some of them. In the present study, the in vitro antiplasmodial activity of the crude extract and compounds from Eriosema montanum Baker f. roots were tested against the 3D7 strain of Plasmodium falciparum and revealed using the SYBR Green, a DNA intercalating compound. The cytotoxicity effect of the compounds on a human cancer cell line (THP-1) was assessed to determine their selectivity index. It was found that the crude extract of the plant displayed a significant antiplasmodial activity with an IC50 (µg/mL) = 17.68 ± 4.030 and a cytotoxic activity with a CC50 (µg/mL) = 101.5 ± 12.6, corresponding to a selective antiplasmodial activity of 5.7. Bioactivity-guided isolation of the major compounds of the roots’ crude extract afforded seven compounds, including genistein, genistin and eucomic acid. Under our experimental conditions, using Artemisinin as a positive control, eucomic acid showed the best inhibitory activity against the P. falciparum 3D7, a well-known chloroquine-sensitive strain. The present results provide a referential basis to support the traditional use of Eriosema species in the treatment of malaria.
High-risk plaques (HRP) detected on coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) confer an increased risk of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Pericoronary adipose tissue attenuation (PCAT) is a novel biomarker of coronary inflammation. This study aimed to evaluate the association of PCAT with HRP and subsequent ACS development in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD).
Patients with stable CAD who underwent coronary CTA from 2011 to 2016 and had available outcome data were included. We studied 41 patients with HRP propensity matched to 41 controls without HRP (60 ± 10 years, 67% males). PCAT was assessed using semi-automated software on a per-patient basis in the proximal right coronary artery (PCAT
) and a per-lesion basis (PCAT
) around HRP in cases and the highest-grade stenosis lesions in controls.
PCAT
and PCAT
were higher in HRP patients than controls (PCAT
-80.7 ± 6.50 HU vs. -84.2 ± 8.09 HU,
= 0.03; PCAT
-79.6 ± 7.86 HU vs. -84.2 ± 10.3 HU,
= 0.04), and were also higher in men (PCAT
-80.5 ± 7.03 HU vs. -86.1 ± 7.08 HU,
< 0.001; PCAT
-79.6 ± 9.06 HU vs. -85.2 ± 7.96 HU,
= 0.02). learn more Median time to ACS was 1.9 years, within a median follow-up of 5.3 years. PCAT
alone was higher in HRP patients who subsequently presented with ACS (-76.8 ± 5.69 HU vs. -82.0 ± 6.32 HU,
= 0.03). In time-dependent analysis, ACS was associated with HRP and PCAT
.
PCAT attenuation is increased in stable CAD patients with HRP and is associated with subsequent ACS development. Further investigation is required to determine the clinical implications of these findings.

For fabrication a special inert gas process chamber for laser powder bed fusion was used. Inspired by the nanocrystalline ribbon structures, well-known from melt-spinning, the concept was successfully transferred to the additive manufactured parts. For example, for Nd16.5-Pr1.5-Zr2.6-Ti2.5-Co2.2-Fe65.9-B8.8 (excess rare earth (RE) = Nd, Pr; the amount of additives was chosen following Magnequench (MQ) powder composition) a maximum coercivity of µ0Hc = 1.16 T, remanence Jr = 0.58 T and maximum energy density of (BH)max = 62.3 kJ/m3 have been achieved. The most important prerequisite to develop nanocrystalline printed parts with good magnetic properties is to enable rapid solidification during selective laser melting. This is made possible by a shallow melt pool during laser melting. Melt pool depths as low as 20 to 40 µm have been achieved. The printed bulk nanocrystalline Fe-Nd-B based permanent magnets have the potential to realize magnets known so far as polymer bonded magnets without polymer.
